1. Preparation
Keep a working LILO entry and note the current kernel.
2. Install GRUB
Basic example:
grub-install /dev/sdX
grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg3. Fallback
Optional: add chainload or keep LILO on another disk.
4. Test
Reboot and verify both main and fallback boot paths.
