Mount an NFS export on Slackware

1. Goal

Connect an NFS share from the client with manual mount and fstab persistence.

2. Files and components involved

/etc/fstab
/sbin/mount.nfs
/mnt/nfsdata

3. Operational flow

mkdir -p /mnt/nfsdata
mount -t nfs server:/srv/nfs /mnt/nfsdata
vi /etc/fstab
mount -a

4. Operational verification

mount
grep nfs
touch /mnt/nfsdata/test-client
umount /mnt/nfsdata

5. Practical notes

After every restart, check listening sockets, logs, permissions, and the users accessing the service.

Before exposing the service in production, test access from a validation host and check any ACLs or firewall rules.
